Photographer's Note
Common-Kingfisher is the smallest type of the Kingfishr, it's scientific name : "Alcedo Atthis".
(Atthis = from Athens, Greece).
Here in it's natural environment , very close to water on the river , watching for small fishs.
15 – 16cm length, 20gr+/- weight, wing-span of 23-25cm.
A very large dispersion: all over Europe and N.Africa throughout Asia, on the same latitudes.
The most common kingfisher with known 6 sub-species .

Hello Ike,
An another excellent shot of a bird in your gallery with this superb fisher very well collected. The color of the bird arise very well. I like too the balance of the composition with the bird well off-centred on the left of the image.

Hello Ike, Good shot of this kingfisher. None here in Arizona, but they are in Oregon along the rivers. Nice colors and good work with the branches. This bird is often photographed with a small fish in its bill. Never mind, you did a good job too. Have a great weekend. Regards, Roger

very beautiful this bird. I liked this image because it shows the bird inside its eviroment. sharpness isn't perfect because the bird was so far from your camera, anyway the light and the mood of the image are very nice
