Photographer's Note
Kingfisher spotted on a palm tree, within a residential area - far from any water reservoir - Sorry but no fish there...
It's scientific name: Halcyon smyrnensis, 25 - 28 cm long and huge red-beak and more noticed is it's white chest.
Probably same guy as in my other photo on him …
A slightly diff. pose on the WS.

What a lovely little fellow he is, beautifully captured amid all that blue and light. We have a beautiful kingfisher here in Australia called the Kookaburra, he looks a little similar.

Hi Ike,
lovely wild life photography. I have seen kingfishers only in ZOO, I would like to see it once in their natural surroundings. I heard they are around where I live but in very particular spots and you have to be lucky. I haven't been so far.
This one is a different species than I am used to: black and white,
very well spotted!
