Photographer's Note
The Jay, called in Israel "Orvani", it's a gray crow, and it's scientific name is "Garrulus glandarius".
Here It was standing on a plastic garbage-can and modeling for me...
Usually found on small forests , parks and plantations. Peckan and wild-fig is it's favorite fruits. A 32 – 35 cm length, 17cm+/- wing span, and weight some 160-190 gr.
It is a spring inhabitant in the shore-plains of Israel.

Hello Ike, Great bird shot. We have three species of this bird, but none look similar to your shot. Good job, it is sharp and clear. Our Jays can be very noisy and are not well liked for the most part. I assume that is genre trait. Have a good week. Regards, Roger

Hi Ike!
You are getting really good at photographing birds, for my greatest pleasure!
Good POV here; The garbage can looks like a round stone, and the colourful bird looks great on the blurred background.
I had no idea it was sometimes called "Gray crow". We have them a lot in our garden, and we call them "geai" in French, pronounced like the English "Jay". It's also called "Geai des chênes" = "Oak jays", because its main food here is acorns.
Thanks for sharing!
Best regards.
MarieLouise.

Hello Ike,
An excellent natural "portrait" with teh attitudes of the bird very well collected. The colors of the bird arise very well in the coloured BG. Good framing too with the bird on the incurving stone.
Have a nice day,
Roger

Hello Ike,
Yes we have them here too, but I have an impression they were more common before!
The bird is captured in a good moment with a fine pose, good details in the plumage...

Hello Ike.
Really you have skill to catch images of birds, something that I see really difficult.
This one that you show has a good POV raised in this object and a nice stumped bottom.
The color and the light estan very well managed.
Have to nice evening. Best regards.
Luis.

Hi Ike,
Nice bird photo. It looks really great against the blurred background and sitting on the round shape. Personally I would perhaps have decreased the contrast a little bit since some part are slightly over-exposed. This happens often when photographing birds, especially in strong day light. We have jays in Sweden as well but they do not look exactly the same even if the are quite similar. There are number of subspecies of this bird. TFS and have a nice day!
Kind regards,
Ulf

Hello Ike,
You are quite a bird watcher, aren't you? This is an excellent photo. The bird covers most of the frame. You have employed selective focusing quite successfully. The background is blurry but the whole of the bird is in focus. She's got quite interesting colors!

Hello Ike,
Excellent clear and sharp capture of this beautiful bird.
I did not think this was a crow. In Belgium we only have ugly black crows :)
This one has beautiful wings.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ike,
I like this!
Jays are very beautiful birds and, in my area, very timid!
I have only seen them in the garden on a couple of occasions and then, if any movement occurs, they are off!
You have been able to show the very distinctive, coloured wing plumage.
Quite unlike other birds in the crow family!
The bird is really well captured against an oof b/g.
Keep safe,
Bev :-)
