Photographer's Note

This picture was taken in one of the oldest towns. It shows a small mosque close to the harbour of Acre. (Acre it was called by the crusader knights. It's original name is Akko). During history a lot of different people inhabited Acre (Phoenicians, Greek, Arabs, Crusaders, Ottomans and Israelis) Nowadays a quarter of the inhabitants are palestinian arabs and three quarters are jewish Israelis. Today the old city is on the World Heritage List of the UNESCO.

Scanned from original colour-slide.
