Photographer's Note

Nazri is type of donation food on Ashoura day ( anniversery of Imam Hussein death ), It's believed that this mourning is continous of what ancient iranians used to do in " Suge - Siavash " for an Iranian king who died over his standing infront of cruleness. Suge-Siavash was banned after Arab's attack to Iran.

Strange, but people dont feel shameful of recieving this type of food and think of it as a holly thing, like Jesus blood( the wine in church ) in christian churchs ... Anyway they're both strange for me ;)

Plus I should add food is not eaten by bare hands in Iran, we use spoon and fork

More shots of Ashoura ceremony in my PhotoBlog

P.S. This shot & all other shots in "Ashoura theme" is just a monitoring of Iranian society by Iranian photographers. It is not showing radicalism or anything, Just a traditional ceremony which has been hold in Iran for about 1400 years.

Iranians are friendly people with big wishes about world peace( This comment is cause of what other people might think about Iran cause of last conflicts between Iranian government & other countries )

Peace upon the earth ...
