Photographer's Note

Stage of the carriage-driver in the front part of the Pahlavi Royal coach, Bonyad museum of vehicles, Tehran.
The stage is covered with royal blue velvet and the Royal coat of arms of the Pahlavi family is sewed with gold strings on it. The emblem consists of two lions holding a scimitar on the sides and the shield. The helmet of the hereladry is the Pahlavi crown in red. There are 5 symbols on the shield :
The National emblem of the lion and sun on the top left, the Faravahar on the top right, The Sassanid phoenix on the right bottom and the Sword of Zoalfaghar and a star as the symbol of Shi'ism on the left bottom. In the centre of the shield is the rising sun behind the Damavand mount that stands as a symbol for Reza Shah Pahlavi, the founder of the Pahlavi dynasty. Below the emblem is the Pahlavi order & gordon and the Imperial motto which says: "JUSTICE BIDS ME DO AS HE WILL JUDGE ME HIMSELF".
Take a look at the lion that is used in the structure of the carriage. Once again shows the importance and popularity of this symbol in Persian culture.
