It's a view from the bottom to the top of a wind- catcher , from inside.
You see how the cross-like wood element is an inside structure to protect it from wind power.
I'll show you a picture from a wind-catcher next time , there I'll explain how it works.
I did nothing to the original pic , only high-contrasted it.
