Hello Gert,
The three policemen taking a break from work definitely add to the calm mood along the quay here. It must be a quiet place if they can afford to stand with their backs to the town enjoying the view. The fisherman is nicely framed by them and the blue tones of their uniforms contrast nicely with the blue sea and sky.

This strong compo actually has given an interesting interpretations in viewers'mind - the word 'Polis' caught attention instantly while I feel as if the angler is under a close watch by the men in blues. Great that no eye contact is made here and apart from that there's stunning colour breaker to lend the necessary contrast. You achieved what you have intended to show us, great candid. Hello Gert,

This does indeed look like a fine quiet place to enjoy a walk beside the sea and a far cry from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas of the southern seaside towns of Cyprus. The fishermen are probably not too bothered as to whether or not they actually catch anything - only the cat which looks better fed than the many feral cats which I remember seeing around restaurants in the southern part of the island. And law enforcement doesn't look too arduous a task either.

I rather like your picture of what looks like an old sailboat (even although you have told us it is modern and fast) on the horizon - the light and composition there are delightful.

Hello Gert,
a lovely little series showing anglers in Kyrenia. They have chosen a quiet hobby but the tranquilty of the three scenes is overwhelming (perhaps it's the combined impact that makes the sense of stillness so strong:) I like very much the sunshine and the colours. In the main post I like the placement of the four people. The policemen look spellbound too, they don't seem to notice that there's some action taking place right behind them:) Congratulations and thank you!

Great scene to capture the cops spending their time in leisure.Being a cop myself,I know cops are always on their toes and they do not have any marked holiday,you take leave when you need them.Excellent composition in blue and the angler in black.TFS.

Hi Gert, You like such scene with the fishermen but this one with three policemen is really amusing. Are they waiting for the caught fish? Twi seem rather bored but the one on the right is dreaming about the long journews.

It does seem like the police are having a calm afternoon, and they have a nice view, too. :-) I like the expanse of blue water in front of them. It's a good thing when a town is so peaceful that the police can take a break.

Funny scene indeed. It seems that fishing on Cyprus is only allowed with police protection. Or to they check if the length of the fishing line is according to the law.
A simple and ordinary scene of local life far from the malstorm of mass tourism.

A magnificent composition, along with the other two we see in the WS, in fact this population, seems like a nice and well located by the sea and the mountains behind, curious image with police relaxing watching the sea, while the fisherman continues unabated in catching their fish.

Gert, the policemen have a lot of work these days due to the virus. They are placed in the streets to watch if the citizens respect the quarantine. Here they just admire the sea and are discussing with the angler. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.
