Photographer's Note
A view across the the Solway merse with stake nets in the distance. The footprints are made by a fisherman walking out to check the nets. The nets, strung out on wooden posts, form a maze in which salmon are trapped. This route across the sands is taken also by haaf net fishermen, who stand chest deep in the tide holding a wide beam to catch trout or salmon.View of a haaf net fisherman

Hi Bev,
a very good composition of this harsh landscape that I like so much. And the management of the light is excellent! TfS.
Have a nice sunday

Hi Bev!
Beautiful place, great composition and framing, excellent light managment, but the most impressive thing is the way you used this line of footprints as "lead in" line! Congratulations!

Hello Bev,
The excellent composition of this shot just leaps off the monitor! The footprints make a good lead in line and then there are the subtle details of sun rays and illuminated pools to enjoy.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

You have composed the image well with the line of footprints emerging from the corner. They go in a straight diagonal line to the nets making a triangle, which makes for easy viewing. I particularly like the reflections on the wet sand and little puddle.

Composition is good. Simple, but very effective. The path of footprints is a great helper on the reading process. It guides our eyes to the beginning of the row of piles and then we could turn right. I like the muted colors. Peaceful, but with character.

Hello Bev, you have certainly succeeded in capturing the feeling of open space here. What lies beyond the horizon?
It feels like a lonely place to be.
The footprints lead us right into the shot.It can't be easy making a living catching fish in this way.
I like that little bit of reflected light in the puddle.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Bev: I've been deficient in my TE visits of late - some nice work I've missed as well - a fine example here. Best regards, c
