Photographer's Note
Since Jorrit asked for an air shot after yesterdays posting, here it is.
I’ve seen this Pink Floyd song title used at least twice elsewhere on TE, but I’m using it again, since this is what I was doing. I got in a few shots in during take off (I can’t do that yet), before I took over. I preferred this one with the wing in it, and I quite like the patterns of the fields, and the road at the bottom. I left in the tilted horizon, to keep the impression of the banking climb that we were executing. In fact this is the first time in months that I haven’t cropped the original, just increased contrast slightly.

For me is very immpresive view, that a pilot never can miss and forget. I like it Richard.

This is wonderful Richard with the random pattern of fields below and the leading edge of the wing as contrast to the lush natural world. It looks very inviting and reminds me of my hours of training in a Piper Cherokee when, as a youth I had dreams of following a friend into the airline business. It never happened but my time in the air was a delight as this appears to be for you. Well done.

My father who was airman said to me: the first time which you steal by plane, you will see a cemetery (it calmed the heats of the young pilots). Here no cemetery, but a very beautiful landscape of the parts of the country of England.
A magnificent air recording Richard.

Great POV Richard. This is a privilege, being able to take your time to catch the earth from the sky. The angle, as if you were flying up, is ideal and of course the wing adds a special touch to the composition.

Beautiful shot Richard, amazingly sharp and with interesting agricultural lines. It made me wonder how the pilot can stay focused on the plane's instruments with all this magnificent view down there...

Very beautiful picture, but I don´t like the wings in pictures... Anyway beautiful and coloured fields.
Congratulations

Interesting shot, Richard. I like the one field that is different in colour and shape to all those green rectangular ones. I also like the line of trees and their shadows providing depth. Tilted horizon works well here.

Great dynamic capture. Love the patterns in and of the fields and the contrast with the smooth wing. Fine job.
ps: You should have said that you refered to the Tom Petty song.

I LOVE field patterns taken from the air!! and the tilted horizon is perfect here, the horizon is never straight when we are taking off or landing!!

I just blink my eyes for a second (or three days:o) and Richard is flying. Very good shot, the natural patchwork is beautiful and agreeing with a bunch of other people including yourself, you did right in leaving the wing in the frame.
Since we can now order shots from you, and you live in the UK could you capture a cropcircle someday from up there? ;o)
I envy you for taking up this hobby.

(was is the tranQuilizers or are you born to fly?)the compo with the wing is good and the land is beautiful... well done
