A harbour at peace, a photo from Isle of Wight, England

Photographer's Note

The Isle of Wight has quite a few harbours, and small inlets for boats to dock or anchor up, Bembridge harbour has a large tidal range so once you are there, you are stuck until the next high tide!
I wasn't expecting to get any photo's on this evening, the high cloud was streaming in fast and the sun was rapidly fading, then some slightly lower cloud also joined in the battle to ruin the sunset, but luckily.....somehow.......the sun managed to have one last try at lighting up the high cirrus and cirrostratus clouds and i was waiting with my camera for it to happen!
As usual this was a beautiful calm evening with occasional boats navigating the narrow channel, a few people huddled on the sand dunes enjoying the sunset, and the sound of seaguls over the water.

I used an ND8 grad filter and a polarizer to get the effect i wanted.

Brilliant scene; my opinion the photo might be abit flat (dark). But overall, breathtaking colors, POV and capture.

Perfectly emphasised effect of symmetry! However, I'd remove a bit of the foreground to add some more sky with the mast top.

Très bonne utilisation du filtre !
Je trouve juste dommage de ne pas voir le haut du mat du bateau !

wonderful colors all over the place here! I'm really love the light on the sand and boat as usually in sunsets the foreground is totally dark. This is just beautiful.

Another amazing scenery, I like the perspective, the foreground's shape that leads to the horizon, perfect placing of the elements (boats)...greatness of a super wide shot! Well done as usual Jamie :)
