Photographer's Note
The final day of a Highlands Tour at the start of this year had us visiting a rather friendly Hairy Coo. Probably one of the most photographed animals in the highlands of Scotland.
I thought this photo gave some indication of the size of his horns, but also captured the 'gentle, dopey' side of him as well. The 'do not grab' part of the 'do not grab Hamish by the horns' sign also makes the photo quite funny and I think adds balance to the photo because he is facing side on.
I haven't cropped the photo, just run it thorough APS to adjust the contrast a little. I have also cloned out a post which was ruining the image.
Another photo from a week of very fond memories before returning to Australia.

He's pretty cute, and I think writing do not grab next to him is a good idea, cause despite those enourmes horns he looks fluffy. Very good and funny compo. Thanks for sharing.
Ohh, and by the way welcome to TE!

Welcome to TE Jenifer! A great idea to capture all these elements, the sign, the way the horns curl up to the upper corners, the "huggable" look, and also the drooling makes him very adorable. Well seen Jenifer, and very well captured! Congrats!

Very funny picture :) but I wouldn't like to stand in his way when he charges :) The only thing is that the horns are a bit cut at the top – I would really like to see all of them. I think the sign is OK. Good photo.

He really knows how to pose... Beautiful animal with great horns. I like how the background works with the animal. Well composed – even though I find the missing parts of the sign and horns a bit distracting. Well done in any case, Jennifer.

I don't know why but this picture make me laughing! May be this is due to the great face this animal has !
Good composition and very good light.

Hi Jennifer
Great and comic pic with the little sign next to the cow. Just posted a picture of a goat looking as comic as this one. Well captured, greetings Albrecht

I wanna see one of them, they are so cute! I don't know why but they remind me of a big hairy dog (I know, I need some vacation....), they have such a sweet and curious look at the same time.
