I like the composition. The train, although moving backwards, is moving into the frame. The direction the driver is looking supports that assumption. The image on my monitor is very dark and I have posted a workshop.

Hi Nigel,
Passing the token makes this interesting. Light seems to be difficult, no wonder the train is a bit on the dark side. The tree in the middle has sort of blue glow around. Remains of some adjustments?

Although well composed, this shot is far too dark. The camera is 'torn' between the brightness of the sky and the relative darkness of the locomotive, and in this particular instance has opted for the exposure of the sky. A graduated filter (such as a Cokin grey G2) would have balanced exposure between the two and enabled the detail on the 8F (such as the coupling rods) to be picked out.
