Photographer's Note

I took this photo almost a year ago with my old Fuji S3000.

I posted this photo after reading the notes on a photo posted by Kath (feather) yesterday where she had to improvise due to not having a tripod on her.

I didn't have a tripod when I took this and had to hold the camera as steady as possible on a fence post for the 2.5 seconds exposure time. As you can see, I didn't manage to keep the camera that steady!

Although I didn't keep the camera steady, I was surprised and pleased with the result. The slight shake has blurred the street houses which would have been more distracting if they were in sharp focus and it has created unusual spiral/wave patterns in the fireworks.

So I think the point I'm making is one of experimentation. Although on November 5th I will be using a tripod and trying to find a better location, I'll also be trying a few shots without the tripod just to see what I get.

What does everyone else think, please let me know.
