Designed by Barrie Todd, this award winning beauty is one of the most unique and distinctive buildings in Belfast, incorporating work, leisure, and living space, all in one building. It was built in 2011 and is located in Queens square. The classical name and boat-like design were inspired by its location on the Lagan riverfront, while the glass façade permits a sense of openness and a spectacular view of the city from within. The structure has a slight futuristic appearance, reflected in its soaring height, sculptural built form, and cool blue colours, enlivening the surrounding urban environment. It's an original and rather odd building with curious details. It looks like the bow of a ship sailing through the city. The photo is very sharp and well exposed and the persons in the street give us some idea of the size of the building.

I liked the most of the aspect of the building, but I didn't like those frames. probably the architect wanted something to make the building different but I don't think those frames were so nice. I liked the photo, TFS.

Quite weird and wonderful modern building. Curving walls is just one of special features there. Those hanging frames are really special. You captured this on good light from an optimal angle.

Hello Miguel, I haven't notice that this interesting building (near the Salmon of Knowledge) has the shape of the boat. But quite natural, it is close to the Titanic area. Nice presentation.

Hello Miguel,
I can't say that I find this a beautiful building but it's surely very special and attracts everyone's attention.
I think the top of the building is the most successful. Not the frames. Just my personal opinion.
You present it in a beautiful way with the many passers-by at the bottom that give us a good idea of the size.

Muy original este moderno edificio todo en cristal, el sol hace un buen reflejo en lo alto del mismo, un diseño realmente novedoso.

Hi Miguel,
very interesting design indeed. I don't remember seeing it before but I think I moved out from Ireland in 2012 or so, and may be it was not ready yet.
The reflection of the sun adds a nice touch here.
