Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
I am looking forward to the day when we will be free to explore our own countries and those of our friends, however, in the meantime, it is safer to stay away from others, to explore just your memories and stay safe.
Yesterday, I showed two types of fishermen and today, another fisherman. 😆
The photograph of the fisherman was taken from what is sometimes referred to as the Fort but is officially The Battery.
The Dunbar Battery was originally built as a civil defensive bastion in 1781. In the 19th and 20th C it housed a hospital for infectious diseases and a military hospital during World War I. Whilst latterly it became a ruin, the structure remained full of potential due to its stunning location on an island within the harbour, its rich history and intriguing topography.
The island on which it is built is connected to the mainland by a lifting bridge. The battery is freely accessible to the public 24 hours. The original battery was a red-sandstone structure with embrasures for sixteen guns. The entrance facing the town is constructed from blonde sandstone with an arched entrance.
The Battery has been made perfectly safe with some interesting additions like the mirrored cubes, I showed earlier and some steps named after the different shipping areas for weather reports. (I will add that as a workshop.)
As you can see, from the walls of the Battery, there are amazing views out to the Firth of Forth and photographic opportunities for spotting fishermen!
Keep safe and positive, Bev :-)

Winds and water taken a toll through times upon the red stone pillars and bricks, as we can see here, Beverley.
Interesting essay written about the place, sure an intriguing place to take photos of.
Good afternoon,

Hello Bev,
This is another good composition with the fisherman catching our attention, clearly seen against the light blue sea. The view is nicely framed by the gap in the wall. The colours of The Battery and the rocks harmonize well together. But is this really as sharp as I am used to expect from you? I tried to sharpen it and found that one click at Auto Sharpen made an improvement. With two clicks it looked over-sharpened.
Or maybe I am just dizzy?
I wish you a safe and healthy weekend.

Hello Bev,
You used to both sides the stones as frame
You chose a nice angle, create lovely depth and perspective with the fisher man in centre.
An excellent composition, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Keep safe,
John.

Hello Beverley,
Excellent use of the walls of the battery as a frame around the rocks near the sea and the fisherman. The reddish and brownish colours are attractive and also the different textures of the stones and rocks are captured well and clearly.

Hi Bev,2 very nice pics from the "fort" and i agree with you for the choice of the main to show in the gallery. The curious bricks of the fort are a natural frame to the fisherman view, very good capture from your archive. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Dear Beverley,
What could I say? Its an excellently thought and executed photo with its framing. Of course, what sells the photo is the lonely fisherman.
Very well-done!
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Bev, Nice view of this fisherman Rod with the rod :0. I like the composition with the gap in the fortress wall. Interesting colours. Must have been nice to go on these big flat rocks. Interesting to see something green. When will the day come that we can visit not only the places far away but just move free around our cities?
Stay safe

Hi Bev
A good well framed (by the walls) photo of the fisher (we've gone politically correct these days by saying fisher rather than fisherman).
cheers

Beverley, this window in a red brick building located on the coastline frames well the scene on the rocks. The lonely angler is trying his luck to catch a fish. He must be patient. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hi Beverley
Nice viewpoint having part of the structure as natural frame combining to lead to the lone angler and beyond. Spot on detail, colour and contrast on a flat lighting. well done
