Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
Sometimes, you just need a little help to feel cheerful, when there is so much distress around.
I took this photograph in the fort at Dunbar. Most of the inner structure is no longer in evidence but interesting features and wild flower areas have been introduced to make the site a pleasing experience.
These reflective cubes are placed around the grass and create islands of fun for whoever is visiting.
I saw this well behaved dog from both angles at once, with the help of the mirror. (Who would have expected this in an old fort!) I think the dog was enjoying being the centre of attention as he watched me carefully, to make sure I got his best features!!!
I will add a workshop which shows more of the scene and though it would have made a good main post, I needed to show this as a bit of a puzzle.
I hope you are smiling.
Keep safe, Bev :-)

Hello Beverley,
A very humorous shot with the dog in the grass, staring at you carefully, while it seems to be quite aware of the fact it is being reflected also and we can see it from another angle as well. Good and well-balanced composition and fine natural colours. Well done.

Hello Bev,
What a great idea to place these reflective cubes here and there for the visitor's amusement. They must be fun to watch even if you don't carry a camera. The very black dog looks so nice surrounded by the grass, and the two of you had a perfect eye-contact. In the mirror we see it from the other side, and its owner's legs as a bonus. I also like the contrasts of green and brown. The WS is a nice photo too, with the mirror playing a minor role.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Beverley,
Could not ignore the smart look this cute dog has, especially with his eyes shining in the picture as it was looking directly at you.
Black beautiful fur, healthy color.
Nice idea for a random take while visiting the castle.

bev
excellent the two posts. I liked a lot the shapes and the signs of erosion shown in the old stones of the fort. nice and funny views using the cube of mirrors. I remembered me in front a mirror-sculpture in a park of london.
here the city hall is checking temperature of the people who is trying to enter in my town, the banks closed today, only the machines are opening. I posted an image on FB of me working with some of my colleagues in masks. haha.
take care

Hi Bev,
Simple and fun view. I like how the dog looks right at your camera. Ant the cube gives another angle as you mentioned. I have such mirror cubes, much smaller though, under loudspeakers at home.

Hello Bev, Veery simple idea to put these mirror cubes and what fun it brings. An amusing picture with the vie of the black dog in front and behind.
We need something cheerful in this horrible situation. What will bring us the future? Every morning I like with horror at the wourld statistics. After Italy, now Spain is heavily hit. In Poland is not so bad.
Stay safe

Hi Bev,in fact it's a surprise to do a "modern" composition from an old place like this fort. Great idea to use the reflections of the cube to take the friendly dog,i like the large view in the WS too. A different post to smile a bit in these difficult days. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hi Beverley,
I am suprised, the dog did not react while you took the picture. The point of view is showing the details of the dog from both side. The light is enhancing the beauty of the colours. Have a nice day.
