Photographer's Note
Another scene from our trip around Scotland (which apparently also included England...) and another excuse for adding a new region of the UK.
We were tipped by a common friend that seing Alnwich castle could be a thing as we both have an interest in fantasy and the at least the first Harry Potter film was filmed there.
This is obviously not that...
This is Bamburgh Castle on the coast of Northumberland, just inland from Lindesfarne, famous for us vikings deciding to raid here over a thousand years ago.
There has been foundations for a defensive works here since the 5th and 6th century and the core of the current was built by the Normans after vikings destroyed the old fort 993AD.
The castle is open to the public and a sure place I will go back to, simply due the amazing natural location it is within.
Photo shot form the north west.
I have adjusted the vignette of the photo, but that is it.

Hello Odd Jarle,
What a beautiful view of the coastline. I really like the lighting and the haze in the distance, from which the impressive castle seems to emerge. Very well captured.

Hello Odd,
You Vikings had a lot to answer for ... maybe, lots of good things, in the end!
Alnwick Castle is a treat to visit but so is Bamburgh.
Bamburgh has the advantage of this wild, romantic setting. It's mood can change with the tide.
It looks as if you have added some vignetting for extra mood and it works well.
I like how the f/g is sharp but there is a slight misting around the castle, which adds a great sense of depth.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Odd
Great imaginative shot and good choice of shutter speed and depth of field. I really like the tones which add to the sense of calmness, just enough detail in the foreground to create interest and lead the eye without distracting it from the focal point. Like this very much. It radiates serenity! Super creation of this iconic spot. Congrats
Best regards

Hello Odd,
This is indeed a stunning photograph of this well known castle and its surroundings. The light is beautifully soft, your colours are natural and your exposure perfect. I fact, what amazes me is just how much light there must have been on this day: to achieve an exposure of 1/800 sec at f/13 with an ISO of 200 suggests it must have been very bright indeed.
But, even more impressive is the fact that, when we take the time to view this image at its full size, the detail and clarity are absolutely amazing, those figures on the distant beach being seen in incredible detail and sharpness.
A very interesting and informative note too. Thank you.
Fabulous!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Odd Jarle,
excellent composed view. The castle in the hazy background is spectacular. I like the couples walking as an element too.
Thanks and regards,

Hi dear Odd
Tasty siluette of the castle along with the coast is so appealing. Perfect framework and ideal horizontaly cropping is the best postcard image as such.
All the best and have a good day! Takero
