Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
WE have just spent a week in Scotland and have enjoyed every minute of the holiday.
WE began our stay in Dunbar, an area that we have never visited before but what a delight. It's a busy little fishing town with lots of history.
My photograph shows a small fishing vessel returning to the safety of the harbour. Perhaps you will be able to see how well the harbour is protected. The photograph is so much better full size. Please click Fishermen Returning to see the photograph much clearer.
The weather was quite windy so there were vast changes in the light. Sometimes cloudy, sometimes with bright sunlight!

Hello Bev,
This is an extremely charming and well composed photo. The small boat with its many red details is very well placed as it is steering into the harbour to join the other boats. The lack of a direct light has made the colours very nicely mild. The steep dark rock and the crenellated wall to the right indicate the safe protection you mention.

Le bateau de pêche entrant au port est un régal pour les yeux, pour les marins, il faut encore tout mettre en place pour la vente et préparer le matériel pour la prochaine sortie en mer !

nonostante il vento, il porto è ben difeso, non si vedono onde.
Piacevole il movimento della barca, aumenta l'effetto della foto e aggiunge colore.

Hello Beverley,
A lovely view of the small fishing harbour, such an excellent viewpoint. Despite the grey sky, there are lots of attractive colours, most of all the orange and red of the small boat.

Now I am a bit envy, Beverley.
Beautiful country, Scotland, and you know how I loved the place, three times loved...
Great sense of motion with the barge set out from port. Contrast, and the low light handled well.
The giant rock on right looks as worth a picture of its own, just to comprehend about the port area.

Beverley, that fishing boat is returning to the harbour after a day or a night in the sea. It looks a charming little town with boats moored in the harbour and nice houses in the bg. Interesting daily life scene.

I really wonder what your point of view may have been ...
The picture gives us the impression you were also returning by boat to the harbour. Perhaps you were on another and larger fishing boat. But a larger one would not be able to enter the harbour.
Many colourful boats are already anchored.
Nice strong contrast in the lower right corner between the white wake and the very dark water.

Hi Bev,
the weather didn't seem to spoil you but it didn't stop you from capturing a great scene here.
I like the vivid colors of the boat which enters the harbour.
The sky was gray but this grayness was quite pleasantly reflected in the water.
The gray is not boring here.
Very well seen and captured, you must have reacted quickly.
