Photographer's Note

It's been almost two full years since I posted any pictures of the UK. Granted, it's been over 5 years since I visited, but I still have lots of decent photos from that one trip.

We only spent about 24 hours on the Isle of Skye, but it was enough to see some of the highlights. I'd estimate 50% of the beautiful photos you'll see of Scotland are from the Isle of Skye (with another 25% from Glen Coe/Glen Etive and the rest from elsewhere). It's a veritable treasure trove of photographic gems: Elgol Beach, Neist Point, Sligachan, Kilt Rock, the Quiraing, the Old Man of Storr, the Cuillins (both Red and Black). And of course this place, the Fairy Pools. It's hard to imagine a more scenically located series of small waterfalls than this stream tumbling over the wild landscape after exiting the Black Cuillins (the mountains in the distance).

We didn't go far along the trail, but apparently the falls get significantly more scenic the farther you go.
