Autumn light enhances the colours around the ruined medieval castle at Scotney in the garden of England that is the county of Kent. The castle tower and old ruined surrounds reflected in the still waters of the moat.

Hello Brian - Good colour contrasts and light display the attractive medieval buildings to perfection . I always think the combination of blue and brick red is gorgeous and here you have a fantastic example in the refection with rich reds against the velvet blue. The low sunshine has certainly had a great effect on lighting the castle wall and helping to create that wonderful reflection. The image is beautifully sharp.

Hello Brian,
Now this is the classical view of Scotney Castle which I have seen so many times but not very often portrayed as well as this. The vertical composition is a little unusual for you as also is the lack of a more "solid" frame.
Absolutely gorgeous warm autumn light is, I believe, the main ingredient for success in this picture. That, combined with the well saturated colours, fine contrasts and beautiful reflections make this a real stunner. Technically perfect too with exquisite sharpness.
