Bromfield Priory Gatehouse.
This medieval gatehouse is a holiday let by the Landmark Trust, sleeping six. It lies just outside the interesting town of Ludlow.
The gatehouse is all that remains of the priory. It now guards the churchyard and the church behind, so very quiet neighbors. The top floor is one huge room, with fantastic carved fireplace piece, within which is set a wood burner. A really great place to come back to after a day out. Come back, put the kettle on and light the fire. Landmark Trusts places (there are dozens of them, all different) do not have a TV or telephone point. Mobile phones are dropped in a bucket of water when entering.
One can only hope!
