This is a beautifully simplistic shot which works very well in vertical format. Lovely colours, perfect exposure and stunning sharpness too - and I note that this was taken with your compact camera, not your 5D.

Hi Richard,
How are you? Your note about the English coastline reminds me that according to fractal god Benoit Mandelbrot, the coastline of Britain
is infinite. The coastline of an island is fractal-like, because when we look closer and closer we see smaller and smaller irregularities.Of course, Mandelbrot is not really making a statement about the coast of Britain, but about the nature of fractals. on your nice summer photo we see no coast at all. Nice composition.
It is a long time that passed since my UK trip - I have already more than hundred new photos posted :).

Nice shot with good placement of boat with nice blue colored flag in this dull sea. The boat is vital here. It really spike out the photo. great shot,

Hi Rich,
very nice idea: a little boat in the sea of life! :)
And a very good choice of composition - with the boat at the bottom and closer to the bottom left corner :) The bright blue sails stand out so proudly against a relatively monotonous background.
