Photographer's Note
Glen Coe is the most famous and perhaps most impressively dramatic of all Scottish glens (valleys), the perfect scenic match for its dark history of the massacre of the Macdonalds. For keen walkers, this is a true Mecca, epitomised by the famous pyramid of Buachaille Etive Mor, the guardian at the entrance to the glen. The highest peak is the great multi-summited massif of Bidean nam Bian whose three great buttresses rise impressively above the road and are known as the 'Three Sisters', whereas the north wall of the glen is the turreted and notorious ridge of the Aonach Eagach. Just to the south is the much quieter and secluded Glen Etive, with its own ranges of impressive mountains.
Those of you that know Scotland well, know that this is rather classic view of this place. Even thought I have been to Scotland many times by now, this was the first time I have actually found this location. The only trouble was that this summer was extremely dry across Scotland so when I finally found this place for the first time, there was nearly no water flowing through the stream/river. I was very disappointed as I was really looking forward to capture this view myself. Luckily on our way back from Isle of Skye, some rain has fallen which brought the water back to where it belongs. This shot was taken late evening (22.15PM) with sun setting behind the mountain. 60 sec exposure time allowed to take enough light and smooth the waterfall and clouds really nicely.
Camera Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Lens’s focal length: 17.00 - 40.00 mm, Photo Focal length: 23.00 mm, Aperture: 20, Exposure time: 60.0 s, ISO: 125

Hello Lucie,
Wonderful use of the late evening light which together with your technical skills produced a wonderful landscape. Magnificent dark colours contrasting with the milky streams of the waterfall and echoed by the drifting clouds.
A jewel.

Hi Lucie,
Hats off for such a colourful capture. The POV is excellent, the exposure setting is perfect to capture the details of the mountain, the flow of the stream and has also created a romatic effect in the clouds.
Thanks for sharing this picture

Hello Lucie,
Very good composition with good depth of field especially the water flow.
I normally do not like to criticize, yet why not set your camera to a higher ISO to bring out the light?
Thanks for sharing,
Ray

The smooth touches for the waterfall and clouds is very pleasing to the eye. As a result you can feel the water gushing!
