Photographer's Note

The last post of my Transience theme...

Shot with a zoom lens to create a simple composition with these rocks (known locally as 'Stacks') against a sky where the sun has just set. I loved the details of the grass growing on the tallest stack and the detritous of seabirds on the nearest one.

Shot at widest aperture to keep the shutter speed fast, preserving details on the water and preventing shake with the large lens. Although it was mounted on a tripod, it's still hard to keep a zoomed shot perfectly sharp.

I hope some of you have enjoyed my Transience theme - it was a fun evening of photography for me.

Thanks for looking
