Photographer's Note
hello....Queensferry, also called South Queensferry or simply "The Ferry", is a town to the west of Edinburgh, Scotland, traditionally a royal burgh of West Lothian.[2] It lies ten miles to the north-west of Edinburgh city centre, on the shore of the Firth of Forth between the Forth Bridge, Forth Road Bridge and the Queensferry Crossing. The prefix South serves to distinguish it from North Queensferry, on the opposite shore of the Forth. Both towns derive their name from the ferry service established by Queen Margaret in the 11th century, which continued to operate at the town until 1964, when the Road Bridge was opened.
Its population at the 2011 census was 9,026 based on the 2010 definition of the locality which in addition to the burgh includes Dalmeny.[3]

Hello Dale,
I have only been to North Queensferry, but this one on the other side of the Firth of Forth looks very appealing as well, even on this cloudy and rainy day. I like the narrow street and the charming houses. Well done.

Hi Dale.An interesting note concerns the ferry service that was interrupted when I was born .... hahaha ... the photo hangs a little on the right but there are no problems, the quality of the details is excellent despite the dark light and the day Rainy, the scene is typical of the villages of this area with the usual architectural style of the streets and houses.Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hi Dale,
You have given us a fascinating and very informative note as well as a delightful photograph of this lovely street in South Queensferry.
It was dull and wet when you took this picture - but I do believe that wet weather really does "bring out" the richness of colours which we don't see when it's dry and the sun shines brightly. So here we can enjoy the lovely rich greens and reds beside the pathway on the left as well as the various colours of the façades of the houses on either side.
A fine composition with lovely soft light, rich colours and excellent detail and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Dale,
It was a wet day, but the grey clouds have produced very nice colours, especially of the pastel painted houses on the left side. The two levels of the street and the pavement give the composition a nice dynamism.

Gert

managed well with the low light conditions.

Hi Dale
Great one on a wet day with the wetness adding to the photo. An interesting scene with what looks like a row of small shops tucked below the houses on the bend.
cheers

Hello Dale,
A charming little town with these terraced houses. The puddles with their reflections are a nice addition and help give the composition depth and perspective. Excellent rendering of the colours and detailing despite the rainy atmosphere.

Hello Dale,
Thank you for the informative notes.
When I saw the photograph, at first, before I read your notes, I was struck by its resemblance to Sanquhar, a place that we visit in Dumfries and Galloway.
The weather was quite inclement for your photograph but it has not spoilt the quality of the photograph and has created a sense of mood. The puddles and reflections are good details!
The composition is excellent. You have used the converging lines of the houses, the road and the fence to create this fine sense of depth and perspective.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
