Photographer's Note
In my trip across UK I found three monuments paying homage for animals, I guess it is difficult to find something like this in other countries and I admire the British by this.
Here we have a monument paying homage for a dog that in the 19th century didn't abandon his master even after his death. How you can see that to rub the nose of the dog is a kind of good luck ritual. Maybe it is successful because I had sun in the next day;)

Na minha viagem através do Reino Unido vi três monumentos em homenagem a animais, creio que seja difícil encontrar algo assim em outros países. Enfim, é algo que admiro nos britânicos.
Vemos aqui um monumento em homenagem a um cãozinho que foi leal a seu dono mesmo depois de sua morte. Como vocês podem ver há uma espécie de ritual onde esfregar o focinho do cachorro trás boa sorte. Deve ser por isso que tive sol no dia seguinte;)

A great photo of this charming little statue for the dog, placed in front of the typically British pub. The clothes of the girl and the flowers and lettering on the building bring colour to the grey architecture on a cloudy day.

Bonjour, cher Jorge,
Architecture typiquement régionale avec ses maisons de pierre et ces fleurs garnissant le dessus de l'enseigne.
Quant à la sculpture rendant hommage à une race canine (je suppose) c'est tout à fait dans l'esprit anglais.

Hello Jorge,
Maybe those girls are very short, otherwise I get the impression you will have to stand on your toes and stretch your arm quite high to reach the dog's nose. It's an amusing photo and the pub across the street, with a lot of people sitting outside, creates a pleasant atmosphere.

I will try to remember that next time in Edinburgh - if the weather gets bad I will come to rub the nose of the dog :)
Nice street scene with the dog's monument and the two lovely Asian girls walking towards you deep in conversation. Traditional pub makes a fantastic background.

Hello Jorge, an interesting shot with the attractive building of the pub in the background, and the statue of Greyfriars Bobby with his shiny nose in the foreground.
All the people enliven the scene.
I wonder if the two young ladies turned to look at the statue of the dog? And did they rub its nose?
