Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
Today's photograph is for fun, a fond memory from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow!
You will all remember the speed of Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt.(Born August 21, 1986, Montego Bay, Jamaica), he who won gold medals in the 100-metre and 200-metre races in an unprecedented three straight Olympic Games and is widely considered the greatest sprinter of all time.
When we went to the athletics site at the games, this game had been erected and people were invited to have a virtual race against Usain Bolt!
There was a lot of hilarity as people attempted the challenge! Lots of people had high aspirations but whilst we were watching, not a single challenger came anywhere near Usain! He Bolted away!
I will show the progress of this sprinter in the workshops.
I hope this has cheered you up!
Have a good day and keep safe, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
This was fun. I almost expected this young man to lose. ;-) Especially the main photo is also well composed with Bolt and his challenger roughly placed on thirds and some excitement captured on the right side. You needed a very fast camera (and your personal skill, of course) to have time to capture the two WS photos.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Bev,
interesting idea and of course the question which comes to my mind: did you try it?
I am in such a bad shape now, working from home does not help.
I have no excuse actually.
Charming series of photos, certainly encouraging us maybe not to compete but at least to stay in shape.
Very well done,
M

Hi Bev,
The mural is a good motivation. You have captured well the action of the runner in position to start the run. The light is giving good colours rendering. Have a nice day.

Dear Beverley,
That's what I call an excellent observation and an excellent timing! The text on the display too, is just in the right place and it matches the situation very well.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Bev,
Ha!3x Amateurs like us, no way beating the King of speed. Unless.......you know who? :-)
It has indeed cheered me up but despair again , knowing, not a single challenger , Bolted him away.
You never know these days, this will inspired a lot of upcoming young athletic to beat this man. As the saying, one man glory won't last forever.
Nevertheless, it's a 'FUN' Monday , you give. Happy as Larry - that's my English name.
Well, you don't have the Bolt but you do have Farah, Sir Mo Farah. The greatest marathon man. Who can 'outrun' this man in the long distances :-)
Thanks for sharing all these 3 shot of humiliating defeat :-)Poor chap!

bev
funny and well done these three images showing the combination between the mural and the real athletes.. nice sense of movement too, these photos made me remember the marathon of newcastle while I was there.
today hot yet, but we had a storm and a sample of rain to save the plantations in the drought.. another lady died in my town, but we don1t know yet if it was covid or chikungunya, this last one is a relative disease worst than dengue fever..
take care

Hello Bev
I like the symmetry between the real fg athlete and the bg mural, which almost appears like a shadowy mirror image. Good sharpness and colour. Tfs!

Hello Beverly
If this athlete waiting for the starting signal hoped to 'beat his shadow', he must have been disappointed!
According to your additional pictures posted in the WS, I consider he will have to drink lot more of energy drinks because his virtual 'shadow' ran way ahead!!
Thanks for showing such a remarkably-interesting surge of adrenalin!
Cheers

Hello Bev,
This is a fun capture! You snapped at just the right moment to get the man preparing to race. Nice setting up of the shot, too, with a bit of a diagonal presentation. Take care!
