Photographer's Note
Last in a series of 3 colour views of Edinburgh taken from the Scott Monument on Proces Street.
This view shows Waverley Station in the foreground with the North Bridge to the left of it. Market Street, Cockburn Street and Jeffrey Street are shown leading up to the Royal Mile.
Athur's seat lies to the left.
Quite a lot of work was done to bring out the contrast and detail on the picture using various techniques. It's hard to do it justice at this size, but we can but try!
Cheers
Craig

I like this very much - not often this view is taken...normally it's the castle or The Balmoral, or down Princes Street. There's a lot of interest here with the train station, the bridge, the park, the buildings, the greenery...etc etc!
Nice sky and good catch of the crags as well.
Dare I ask if you've been up Arthurs Seat?

This is another great shot of the Edinburgh skyline and there's so much to look at here. The tracks of the station provide an interesting foreground and I like the sunlit Arthur's Seat poking its head over the buildings in the background.
Although the buildings of the city look level, there's a quite noticeable tilt to the railway tracks. As the buildings aren't affected, I'm guessing that this is caused by lens distortion and not a wonky camera angle.
I've got the same lens, and although I like its wide view, it does distort straight line subjects, especially near the edges of the frame.
Great shot though.
Cheers,
Ben
