Photographer's Note

The parish church has a prominent location in the centre of Neilston village. As is the case with many similar church buildings it evolved over the centuries, extensions being added to the original building as communities and congregations grew.

Much of the present church building dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries. However the years eventually took their toll and, during severe storms in 1999, much of the church roof was destroyed by the wind. As a result the interior suffered considerable damage. For the next five years the congregation met in the church halls(formerly Neilston South Church) whilst the church building underwent extensive renovation work. As you can see an excellent job was made of this work and the building is in splendid condition once more.
