Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
I'm sure that I am like many of you, trawling archives for interesting, unposted photographs, since our ability to travel to new locations is severely limited.
Please see the photograph in the large format here ;the details really are improved.
In some ways, it has been enjoyable, reliving holidays, places and people.
My photograph shows Dunbar Harbour, taken from the seaward side, with the arch of the fort as a frame. I will add a second impression as a workshop.
Situated at the mouth of the Firth of Forth Dunbar is one of East Lothian's most beautiful and popular seaside towns, it features historic buildings, spectacular landscapes and rugged coastlines and around the harbours are attractive former warehouses and granaries.
It is a busy working harbour with a commercial fleet landing mainly shellfish. The harbour is also home to one of the largest lifeboat stations.
I feel like adding, 'Keep Safe', at each farewell.
I hope that does not offend, Bev :-)

Hello Beverley,
Excellent idea to show the small port through the arch of the fort.
Even as light was not best favorable, colors and distinct contrast achieved high quality upon the picture outcome.
Marvelous.
Have a nice sunday,
Ike

Hi Bev, very evocative rendering of an unmistakably English scene, and not just because of the weather! I like the use of the gate to frame the image. Exposure is good too, I. What must have been difficult lighting. Cheers, steve

Hello Bev,
Your photos always tend to be very carefully composed, and this is no exception. Showing a view through an arch is not a unique idea, but it nearly always works very well, also in this case. The rather dull sky seems to enhance the colours of the buildings and the lawns. The WS is a good alternative, also very neatly taken, but I prefer this version without any empty foreground.
Kind regards,
Gert

bev
nice idea to use the old stone arch like a frame. I liked the shapes of the houses and their style. the red roofs broke the monotony of the grey here.
here another day of quarantine, yesterday night police was in the streets watching people and obligating some stubborn to go from the streets back to the houses. the local mass today had only the portraits of people in the benches.. I watched on TV.
take care

Hello Beverley, good use of the arch, as others have already said. It certainly focuses the eyes on the town. It is very colourful with the lovely red roofs.
We have to do our best and follow guidelines from the government and the health officials.
I can’t believe today that there are still families having get togethers because of Mothering Sunday, don’t they understand?
So stay safe.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Beverley,
You made excellent use of the arch of the fortress in the foreground, which created an excellent frame for the small and charming port with its small boats and orange roofs, which added colour to the cloudy day.

Hi Beverley
A captivating part of the old town using portion of the arch as natural frame combining to lead the eye in. It's bright enough to input all its refined detail throughout and beautiful colour rendering. Excellent.

Hi Bev.
Thanks for your good wishes, confined at home and leaving with all the precautions only to the Super, I tell you the same, "Keep Safe" all security measures are few.
This is a photo with a magnificent port framing that part of the town, in the arch of the castle, charming houses and fishing boats in the fjord.
Excellent POV, with very good lighting, color and sharpness to enjoy the details.
Very good work. I like it
Enjoy a happy day.
Very best regards.
Luis.
