Photographer's Note
Ironbridge c.1850.
In November 1777, Abraham Darby started to design and erecting 378 tons of cast iron, to build a bridge in the Shropshire gorge, on the banks of the River Severn.
The bridge was completed in 1779
I have used a daguerreotype effect on the photo to give it a 'of the time' style. The daguerreotype was widely used from 1839-1855 and was possibly the first popular form of photography. Images were captured onto a thin piece of silver-plated copper.
I try not to use 'special effects' on photo's but thought this was appropriate for the subject. I'd be interested to see what other people think and will post the original soon.
