Photographer's Note
This is the fourth time I had a chance to admire puffins in their natural environment, second time on Farne Islands. My parents in law were visiting and I asked myself a question what is the most impressive place I have experienced in the UK so far. The answer was simple: Farne Islands. You can read more about details how to get there etc in the note to my previous photo from this location (CLICK HERE).
Since I have seen the photos of puffins carrying several fishes in their beak I have dreamt about seeing it. This time I have seen it three times. First time the puffin was in a 2-3 meters distance, not shy at all, but I did not have my camera ready. Second time you can see in this picture. Third time was actually quite a sad experience as the puffin having beak full of fish tried to get back to its nest but it was attacked by a group of seagulls –they were playing with puffin like with a ball until they stolen all of its fish. It looked terrible but I could not help...
* I know the first and third puffins are out of focus, I was focused entirely on the middle one with the fish...

Hello Marius,
I didn't realise you were a Nature photographer until I looked at your linked picture - so you are an accomplished photographer in all fields of the art!
An interesting note you have written - and, yes, Nature can be so cruel but there's nothing you can do to stop hungry and aggressive seagulls from attacking these cute and defenceless birds.
A beautiful photograph of this little trio of puffins, one with its beak stuffed full of sand eels, taken in lovely light with fine vibrant colours and excellent details and clarity against a nicely out of focus and non-distracting background.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. Our camera club sometimes arranges trips to the Isle of May off the east coast of Scotland - there are puffins there too but the boat trip out to the island can be quite rough. I've not been but it's something I'd like to do. How long does the boat to the Farne Islands take and is it a rough crossing too?

Hi Mariusz
This is a really impressive picture, really nicely done. The clarity of the birds is incredible, and to capture this particular scene is just perfect timing. I've never actually heard of this place, so thanks for sharing a special moment and picture.
Cheers

Hello Mariusz, an excellent wild life picture of the Puffins; the details are so sharp.
You were very fortunate to capture the Puffin with the sand eels in its' mouth.
Lovely bokeh, no distractions from the main subjects.
We have seen Puffins on the North Yorkshire coast, but I am unsure as to whether they still live there as their food source may have moved.
Thanks for sharing.
Regards Jean.

Cześć mariusz, pojechałeś jeszcze raz oglądać maskomury!~Moje ukochane ptaszyska. Sliczne z tymi rybami w dziobach.
No i jak sie tam dostać?
Pozdrawiam Małgorzata

Bonjour Mariusz,
Probablement l'oiseau le plus photogénique sur la planète. Il est tout simplement magnifique avec son beau bec rouge.Il ne semble pas trop nerveux non plus ce qui permet de bien faire le focus.
Bon samedi

Hello Mariusz,
Your notes reminded me of the cruelty of nature. It is the rule of the animal kingdom that the smaller and weaker will usually have to give way to the bigger or more dominant. Only in civilised society is this rule abandoned ... well, in some civilised societies!
This is a superb photograph. Not only have you captured a bird with its beak full of fish but you have, also, managed to get two further birds in shot! Puffins are not called the clowns of the bird world for nothing. They do have amazingly colourful, almost clown-like faces. You have captured these details with excellent sharpness.
I wish I had taken a shot like this!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
I hope you and your little daughter are feeling better. I remember when my daughter had chicken pox, you couldn't put a pin between the spots, there were so many!!

Witaj Mariusz
Oh yes, Puffins. They are so high on my personal bucket list to photograph one day.
Beautiful example here with this trio. Classical how the middle one holds all these fish in his beak.
I didn't realize that one can actually see Puffins in the UK, I always sought that I had to travel to far off Iceland for that.
have a great Sunday

Hi Mariusz
yes, these puffins are very cute aren't they!
it must have been such a helpless feeling to watch the seagulls pluck them - but this IS the natural food chain I guess, sad but true.
Lucky for you to have seen these birds more than once, it must be quite the thrill to see them so up close.
there's just something adoreable about them.
fun shot, lots of visual interest here.
PS
i'd love to meet up with a large TE group in the UK! that would be a great experience. I know John and Beverley sometimes gather groups together, i'd love to be apart of that!
see you around

Hi Mariusz!
I like these birds a lot but I never had the chance to take photos of them, maybe because I mostly visit countries where they don't exist. Really nice, with good focus. You even got one of them eating.
