Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
Today, I am posting a photograph of Lowry the Artist.
Laurence Stephen Lowry RBA RA was an English artist. Many of his drawings and paintings depict Pendlebury, Lancashire, where he lived and worked for more than 40 years, Salford and its vicinity. Lowry is famous for painting scenes of life in the industrial districts of North West England in the mid-20th century.
When Salford Quays were renovated 'The Lowry' art museum and theatre was built.
The Lowry is home to the world’s largest public collection of paintings and drawings by LS Lowry. A large selection is on display in the permanent exhibition alongside other works on loan from private collections across the UK.
In the gallery, this is almost like a reincarnation of the artist!
I loved it!
What do you think?
There was another artist in the gallery, who I will reveal in a workshop.
Have a lovely day, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
I had strong suspicions this art lover was someone else, until I read the WS note. ;-) The two men complement each other perfectly. Posture and colours are almost identical. But is the large picture a painting? It really looks like a photo, and it's so different from the figures Lowry used to paint, according to what I see on Wikipedia. In any case both photos made me smile.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello, Bev!
He seems to be posing for the photo just like a lot of people do in front of statues, hahaha! You got him at the right moment, and with very good framing, light and sharpness! And these TE meetings, so rare nowadays, remind me of the good days of this site...

Hello Bev,
This is great! How lucky to have the viewer of the art standing in the same position as the subject. They are both wearing a similar color scheme, too. This one made me smile. :-)

Hi Bev
was this intentional? I Know you said it wasn't, but holy crow, this is almost too good to be true, the only thing missing is the hat :) The jacket looks to be almost the same color as well, so funny how people imitate the artwork unknowingly...or is it unknowingly...perhaps there's IS some sort of psychological subconcious thing happening. this is FAR too easy to like, its worth 4TE points :) cheers

Hello Beverley,
A great photo with the enormous photograph on the wall of the man in his brown coat and his hands on his back and the visitor in front of him, also in a brown coat with his hands on his back, even though he has got a camera in his hands instead of a hat on his head. Really well seen and captured!

Dear Beverley,
I liked it so much that I had to fave it! It was really an excellent observation and took the opportunity very well! As a suggestion, I would recommend a BW conversion, since the photo itself doesn't feature too much colurs anyway.
Best Wishes,
Gy.
PS: I have to admit I didn't recognise Claude from this angle. Maybe beacause I don't know him that much. Maybe because his profile picture here was taken from the front and most probably some 40 years ago! :)

Hello Bev, It is a brilliant composition. Pity that Claude had no such hat but it would be too much to expect :). Almost the same position and the colours. Simply fantastic. Of course, I like also the view of the artist in red. How nice of him to be dressed like this. IOs is a fantastic observation, everyone dreams about such an opportunity.
Kind regards MAlgo

Is that Len, and is this a set-up? Whether it is or not, it makes a striking shot.

Dear Bev
An interesting and very metaphorical photograph depicting the work of this English artist.
It reminds me of thinking and designing new works as a stage in the creative process.
In the workshop, I see you hanging out with our artist from TE.
Photos are in the spirit of our Trek Earth.
Warm regards

Hellol Bev,
A beautiful prelude to my series of photos of our delightful meeting in Manchester last year that will be on TE soon.
Of course I immediately recognized the photo with Claude, who is standing in the way so attractive here.
Excellent picture
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Hello Beverley, the fact that both the man and Lowry are both wearing the same colour coat makes this a winner, as well as the identical pose.
Lowry was an excellent artist, I love his work.
I first saw an exhibition of his work in Manchester when I was doing A levels. I won't say how long ago!
Thanks for sharing, regards Jean.

Nice "mise en abime". And the fact that the "real-life" figure is armed with a camera makes it even more enjoyable. Good shot.

I missed this one because I was in Manchester at the end of February. What similarities you noticed between real life and poster. Well done!

Hi Bev.
What a beautiful and artistic composition, perfectly capturing the man in the picture, while a very similar visitor in appearance, age and costumes looks at him carefully, is a very good comparison and this realistic painting.
Very effective color, which highlights the details of the image.
A good management, both of the luminosity, as of the sharpness.
Very well done. I like.
Enjoy the weekend.
My best wishes for you.

Hi Bev,
so many artists in one meeting. That must have been a pleasurable experience. Your photos are indeed resembling Rob's favourite theme of people interacting with art.
The workshop one would be again something what we could potentially see in Claude gallery with Rob making a great model with his red jacket.
Great reportage from this TE meeting.
