Photographer's Note
A panoramic view across the River Thames at the Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London, England. A few of the sailing ships are berthed here as part of the Tall Ships Festival taking place in this part of London. Hope you like this monochrome version that marks my 1,300th post on TE! Gulp!

Hello Brian
1300 posts is an incredible achievement...in consistency in post and maintaining consistently high quality. Congratulations!
Unusually you have decided to post a monochrome for this occasion. Nice work, though I would not mind an extra bit of contrast (punch)
Heartiest Congrats once again..
With Regards

Hello Brian,
This is an amazing achievement!
I have to say, you have posted some wonderful photographs, and developed a style which, without doubt, has benefitted and affected the style of many other photographers on the site.
This is a photograph which has the appearance of an etching, with its sharp and intricate details. It tells us much about the style and character of Greenwich. Like Angshu, I think it would benefit from a little more contrast.
Have a great day,
Bev :-)

Hello Brian,
A most interesting and informative note and an immaculately presented photograph of the Royal Naval College at Greenwich.
Your black and white rendition is beautiful and reminds me so much of monochrome etchings from the days of sailing ships apart from the fact that your rendering of the sky is much more natural and pleasing.
A fine composition with lovely light and amazing tones and contrasts, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Brian,
So you DO have a time machine! How else could this old scene come to life so vividly while retaining its look of real authenticity. These great ships have given you some magical photo moments, and I really like this combination of old world charm and documentary. Very cool. That sky is superb too. Congratulats on post 1300, that's a lot of sharing the world!!
Cheers

Cette version noir et blanc (ou plutôt gris et blanc!) est vraiment très plaisante à regarder. Une belle réussite ....comme les 1299 précédentes. Merci de participer si activement et de si belle façon à la vie de ce site.

Firstly, congratulations on your 1300 post Brian. That's represents a lot of dedication to both the site and to photography and I appreciate both.
Your PP work on this shot is lovely, taking the shot back to former times and fitting perfectly with the scene you present. I love the soft wash of tones. Most attractive.
Warm regards
Rosemary
