Photographer's Note
Taken at Bradgate Park, Leicestershire from the deer sanctuary that the public are not allowed to walk, this was a special guided tour that told how the deer were managed and controlled as they have been for 800 years.
To the right are the ruins of Bradgate House
The park was cleared by the Greys of Groby in the 15th century; the construction of Bradgate House was begun in 1490 by Sir John Grey, 7th Baron Ferrers of Groby, the husband of Elizabeth Woodville and the ruins of the house are still visible at the centre of the park. The house was the birthplace of Lady Jane Grey, later Queen, ruling for a mere 9 days before being overthrown by Mary I.

This is something new to me Michael, although no wonder as I don't know Leicestershire. I love the autumn colours - I assume that is bracken on the ground. You had a good high POV overlooking the parkland and with the ruins of the house nicely placed on the right. Do you also get a guided tour of the ruins? I assume it is privately owned or the NT or EH would be making money out of it.

Hi Michael,
I do like this photo, especially because of the different layers. Great POV with these ruins in the picture and the view towards the fields and the sky! Well seen and well captured! Nice note as well!

Great shot, Michael!
I like the contrasts in the fall type colors and the dark greens. Wonderful shadings and different lines and angles. Excellent POV overlooking the ruins and then on into the distance to the far hill. I like the lighting, too, looks like a good time of day for photos. Well composed, great color and depth. This is just excellent. Thanks and kindest regards,
Shelly

Hello Michael,
An interesting landscape with a variety of trees!
Attractive autumn colours are marking the scenery, and the good light really brings them out...
A well balanced composition, and inclusion of the ruin adds excitement!
Greetings,
