Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
Today, my posting is of a building which has been part of Wycoller village for centuries. This old stone farmhouse has had many names during its existence, but that is not its main claim to fame. It is known for its HAUNTINGS.
Pearson’s Farm, as it was called, has been the site of supernatural activities. These have been reported by many people, and always from those living in the house. They reported visitations which came through the walls and caused noises and disturbances. One person, after hearing the noises, stayed up all night in the barn; then hearing footsteps, thought his father was arriving, only to find … no-one there!
One of the last occupiers of the house saw shadows of a broad-shouldered man against the wall to the right of the fireplace. As she watched it, it slowly faded and appeared to dissolve through the wall.
Is there really something strange about this old farmhouse?
I will leave you … to make up your own mind!
Many thanks for stopping by.
I hope you enjoyed the visit.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)

Hello,Bev,
Nice seeing you again through your shots:)
Hehe, ghosts have chosen a beautiful house to haunt!:)
You've taken the shot from a very favourable POV to display well the haunting charm of the place.
Does science give any explanations?

Good morning, Beverley - neighbour of today! ;-)
Well, this well-kept house seems to be built for eternity and it truly has an a bit bulky, yes, and a bit gloomy appearance. But haunting - no, I don't think so. I can't believe people disappearing throug a wall ... Nevertheless - an interesting and quite different contribution here. I like the angle you have chosen here.
Greetings from sunny and wonderful warm Germany - and have a nice weekend!

Hello Bev,
Certainly a splendid and impressive property, whether haunted or not. I'm not one to believe in ghosts, then I have never experienced anything of the kind. I like the diagonal perspective and the way you have captured the lovely tones and textures in the stonework.

Hi Bev!
Nice architecture photo, great framing and composition, excellent diagonal perspective! Despite the partially "washed out" sky, the light managment is great, the building is well lit! Beautiful colours and textures on the stone walls! Congratulations!

This is not how I would picture a haunted house to look, the building and the flower beds are beautiful. A very nice pov and excellent detail. TFS

Hello Beverley,
the house doesn't really look haunted ;) Just an ordinary house... but maybe it's because the ghosts are "ordinary"?:)
Excellent perspective: it shows as much of the house as possible.
and a very interesting Note to the photo ;)
But I wouldn't dare to stay alone or spend a night in this house :)
Technically, my only remark would be about the overexposed (?) white sky.. though with the sky we never know... it's an ever-evasive element of photography LOL
Have a nice Sunday!
Best regards,
Elena

Hi Bev,
I must be haunt proof cuz my wife and siter-in-law were feeling cold drafts and hearing thumps in the night all which was confirmed by a next door neighbor while vacationing in Maine while I slept like a new born babe.
At any rate Im very impressed with these stone homes in your neck of the woods. Seems like they were really built to last. The only buildings similar to these in the U.S. are mills cuz they were afraid of fire. Even most of the finest colonial homes were built of wood.
Anyway if I slept here and tossed and turned the haunting would be confirmed.

Hi Beverley,
this traditional farmhouse does defenetely not look like the place of hauntings, it seems to be a very idyllic and beautiful place. But one never knows what has happened here in the past, and this house has a past. The structures of the bulky walls are wonderfully captured, your POV works very well here. TFS!
Warm regards

Hi Bev,
I think the best vantage point to photograph a building like this is precisely as you have done. By shooting it from a corner, you've achieved an exquisite demonstration of "two-point perspective." (The "parallel lines" extrapolated from the façades seen all converge at a pair of vanishing points on the horizon line, a great discovery in the history of art.) Maybe it was one of those historical ghosts that inspired you to chooses this vantage point; otherwise it was inspired intuition.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello Bev,
Good low POV here from the corner which creates a V shape (graffer tutorial here!) and strong diagonals which compositionally is very satisfying. The gable end could perhaps be corrected with a bit of vertical tweaking ( I have instructions on how to do this using photoshop 7 if you would like them- courtesy of Peter). Also, being extra picky, I feel you have upped the saturation just a notch O.T.T. As ever though, an accomplshed posting.

Hi Bev,
A very interesting story here and a very interesting house. The POV you have chosen here makes it look like the roof has disappeared, maybe the ghosts came that way... Skies are always a bit of a problem, when they look like this. On the other hand, sharpness and colour of the house itself could not be better!
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hi Bev,
I think you have many of these houses in the UK which is said to be haunted. Well.. true or not, the story is very interesting. The house is also exciting, very nice stone architecture. Captured here from a very good Pov, that gives us an excellent overview. Thanks for sharing.
Best regards

Wow! Scary!
This one has also a very well chose pov, a great composition (though simple), very good exposrue, natural and beautiful colors and a pretty adequate level of sharpness!
The house - in spite of its haunting history - looks quite good in your excellent picture!

Hi Bev
Spooky! Time & time again, I've read that such hauntings almost invariably involve a past murder or suicide, on the premises. Seems this building has a dark past! Good perspective & graphism. Tfs!
