Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
Yesterday my husband and I visited Spring Wood and apart from the visual beauty, the birds were contributing with there many and varied songs. I wish I could add the audio along with the photograph!
Spring Wood was originally called Oxheywoode, and was owned by monks from Whalley Abbey. (It was described as being “one bow shot East of the Abbey” in 1553.)
Today the wood is classed as semi-natural ancient woodland, which makes it a rarity, especially in Lancashire. It has pathways and picnic areas, catering for strong walkers and disabled visitors alike.
At this time of year, the wild bluebells are just beginning to open and create a blue carpet in the semi-shade beneath the trees.
Though the flowers are a little early in opening, April has been exceeding dry as can be seen in my workshop.
I wish you a happy weekend, Bev :-)

Hi Bev
A lovely Springtime image. The tree looks as though it's about to up roots and walk.

Hello Bev,
"I wish there was audio" - what is the problem with it? Just make a short video, then put it on YouTube, and give the link. Very easy. I prefer the pictures, but sometimes video is essential when you want to preset sounds or movement, for instance of the dance. Nice view of the lower part of the forest, with the bluebells. In Poland, we have no bluebells, instead, in the forests, there are the fields of white wild anemones and yellow lesser celandine (Ficaria Verna). I walked in the park nearby and they also look fabulous,
As to the vaccine, we wanted to have it earlier, so we agreed to go to Płock. My elder son could be vaccinated in Kutno (120 km) and my younger one - in Tomaszów Mazowiecki - the same. The situation with Covid in this third wave is very dramatic, everyday there are on average about 500 deaths. Altogether almost 70 thousand.
Have a nice safe May weekend

Hi Bev,
The scenery is impressive. The point of view is showing the details of the trees and of the flowers. The light is bringing out the colors. The sound of the birds must have been pleasant. Have a nice day.

How lovely it had been this walk through the woods, Beverley, when birds gave you a charming audio along.
Most interesting to recognize a deer footprints on the ground, and indication to wildlife around the forest.
Charming spring blossom of Bluebells catpet shown through.

Hello Bev,
My camera has a video / movie function but I don't use it as often as I should. Waterfalls, Dances, sports, and bg birdsong are instances where it might be useful to make a short movie. I did super8 in the 70's, so I know how to pan slowly and evenly. I think you would make a great cinematographer! Tfs!

Hello Bev,
Again a very well composed photo. The beautiful big tree deserves its good place in the foreground, next to the light green area and the blue tones further back. The WS is also an eye catching photo, but I was surprised to see that muddy track described as a result of an exceedingly dry period. Then I realized it's not a track but a former stream, only temporarily a track for deers.
Especially the main photo has a very nice light.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Beverly
This wonderful piece of ocular poetry, so well captured using the trunk as eye-catcher, constitutes a breath of fresh air and a confirmation of the earth's natural talent as subtle colorist; the faint blue hues at backdrop add a touch of magic!
Cheers

Hello Beverley, two good shots from your walk in the woods.
The bluebells provide a lovely focal point as we look past the textured trunk of the tree.
I will have to imagine the bird song, although I can hear a blackbird as I sit here.
Semi-natural woodland? I wonder how much of that there is in England now?
Still feeling cold; we have had a heavy hail shower today!
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Bev,
I have nervously checked whether it was taken this year: did I again miss the blubells season? You mention they jst start blooming but I thought they will be blooming later this year with very cold spring.
I cannot remember at all whether bluebell carpets are something common in Poland or anywhere else. Maybe it is British phenomenon?
Very well done,
M

Hello Beverley,
I like going for a walk in a nearby forest as well in the early evening, when there is no one else and the birds are singing as loudly as they can. A lovely view here with the blue flowers creating a wonderful carpet among the trees. That old tree is well included in the foreground as well.

Hi Bev
I'm afraid that you' have to go over to U-Tube to add sound. I am sitting here with lots of bird sounds around as well.
A good photo in the woods with another mass of blue bells.
Cheers

Hello Beverley,
Splendid forest picture with the many bluebells on the undulating terrain.
I like the presence of the big tree with its thick strong roots in the foreground.
In the part of the forest we see in the WS, someone might be tempted to use the muddy brook as a walking path so as not to trample flowers. However, that would be a very dirty business.
Best regards, Paul

a well composed spring image, the ancient tree anchors the photo whilst the bluebells dance in a circle in the background.
