Photographer's Note
The western coast of the Isle of Wight is made up of chalk, sandstone, flint, and clay, there are also many fossils found in the area too.
This photo was taken at Freshwater bay looking southeast just after sunset.
Freshwater bay is sat upon a chalk ridge that runs many many miles, showing itself at Whitecliff bay on the far eastern side of the island, here at Freshwater bay, also at the Needles (slightly further north) and then heads out into the English channel and shows itself again many miles to the west in Dorset at the Old Harry Rocks in Studland Bay.
I used a Polarizer and an ND8 Graduated filter with a 30 second exposure.
Please note: I have lost a LOT of quality due to compression just so i could upload it to TE!

This is magnificent! Very well composed with vibrant colors. I can imagine how groovy the original must be. TFS

Hi Jamie,
I can see you went for the gradual filter here. I would go for the grey too, but not gradual as you can see its work especially on the upper-left rock. That shadow doesn't work here well.
I like your idea and I imagine your work here.
Kind regards,
Michal

Hi Jamie,
it's a great shot and the sky makes it extra special. The colours are wonderully soft and the light's sublime, couple that with the long exposure and you have a superb capture, well seen.

Jamie,
This is a fantastic sunset shot! The long exposure creates a nice effect on the moving water while allowing you to create this amazing DOF. The low angle lighting gives nice color and lighting to the rocks in the foreground.

Very strong photo, I think that separated rock gives much strength to whole composition. Also the sunset light give wonderful colours.
