Photographer's Note
Late afternoon sunshine bathes the ornate cast ironwork of the beautifully restored walkway that re-connects the “birdcage” bandstand to the seafront in Brighton, England. Lovingly restored to the original specifications in 2009 and now a wonderful example of Victoriana.

Hi Brian - another lovely shot of the bandstand. Your low POV here works very well; the sun is shielded by the railing but is casting attractive shadows on the right and illuminating the railing on the left and then the lovely patterns are repeated behind the bandstand too. Great composition al round1 best regards Rosemary

Hello Brian,
This is Stunning!
The composition is excellent with strong symmetry and strong diagonal lead-in lines drawing the eye to the centre of the bandstand. Colours, exposure, lighting and sharpness are just perfect.
Of all the features, I think the bright reflections off the railings on the left is perhaps the most impressive but, then, the whole photograph has wonderful presence and impact.
Thank you for sharing this lovely picture, Brian.
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.

Utterly stunning, Brian!
A wonderful symmetrical composition, which emphasises the regular patterns of the wrought iron work, but gives an artistic slant from the light and shadows.
Very well seen.
I, too, like this type of shot!
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Brian,
Bandstands are such fun to photograph - I have often taken the one in Eastbourne. I haven't seen this restored one in Brighton so I must take a visit. You have taken a stunning picture of the finest quality. The low POV and the shadows of the railings give a decorative FG for the beautiful bandstand. TFS.

A fantastic photo. Great sharpness & saturation. Just goes to show that you don't have to follow the rule of thirds when you have such strong lead-in lines as these. Nice to see it shot from a low down POV.
