The Deep, an award winning aquarium is home to 40 sharks and over 3,500 fish. The Deep is operated as a charity dedicated to increasing enjoyment and understanding of the world's oceans. It first opened its doors in March 2002 and so far has welcomed over 2 million visitors from the UK and abroad.

The building designed by Sir Terry Farrell is located in Hull on the Humber Estuary, just an hour from York. Part of the regeneration of Hull, The Deep is set to become an internationally recognised landmark and project the pioneering heart of the City.

The building exploits the landscape on which it is built and was inspired by natural geological land formations. Gleaming glass and aluminium thrust into the dramatic landscape on the confluence of the two rivers marks the historic entry to Kingston Upon Hull.
