Photographer's Note
How were large slabs of stone like this put in place?
A small version of a clapper bridge; an ancient form of bridge found on the moors of several counties of the UK.
Formed by large flat slabs of stone, often granite or schist, supported on stone piers (across rivers) or resting on the banks of streams, as here.
Most were erected in medieval times.
Two more shots in the w/s.
Thanks for looking.

Hello Jean,
Nobody should need much imagination to see medieval people coming this way, some maybe on horses, but preferably not in carriages, considering the steep step on the far side of the bridge. Everything here looks like it must have done 500 years ago or more. It's a fascinating view, and the two WS photos provide good complements.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Jean,
A beautiful landscape with lots of different shades of green. The large tree looks wonderful and you placed the narrow stream and the old small bridge very well in the foreground. Great photo work.

Bonjour, cher Jean,
Voilà la nature que j'aime. La simplicité des lieux s'exprime joliment avec ce petit pont tout simple laissant passer un Ru ou similaire.
L'environnement me plaît beaucoup.
Amitiés.

Wonderful nature pictures, Jean, lot's of green tones all around.
A place to take an easy and pleasant stroll around.
WS#2 looks attractive, but I can understand your choice of main post, the big flat-slab stone made this interest.
Thanks for your supporting critique today.
Good afternoon,

Hello Jean,
How? The same questions I'm asking to myself....how high is the sky? and how deep is the ocean?
Most probably the Alien invasion during the medieval times.
But one thing for sure, it was perfectly placed without the help from the modern technology. Why the old medieval-skilled were not past on to this day?
Back to your picture, what a beautiful place it is. So fresh and green - invigorating. The sound of the water gushing gently on the ancient rocks - therapeutic.
Thanks for sharing.

Is the beach sand or pebbles? Good question. It's a volcanic beach. In general what I noticed, a bit of both - sand and pebbles( more).

Jean, this big slab of stone was cutted and then placed to be used as a bridge. It was installed above this stream in the Middle age and still resists to the bad weather and the aging. Nice view of the countryside. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hi Jean,
Great use of the title which forces us to read int the note. Nice way to direct the viewer to certain aspect of the scene which could have been overlooked otherwise.
Very good composition with the tree and bridge placed according with the rules in the frame.
The English weather didn't stop you from recording a beautiful picture,
M
