Photographer's Note
In the centre of Lviv, behind the opera house there is a small market place where locals sell (mainly) souvenirs to tourists... These items are often overpriced but sometimes it's just one of a few places in which all inclusive tourists are let to have some shopping... As Ukraine isn't rather a popular tourist destination the majority of visitors coming to Lviv seem to be Polish: it used to be a Polish city in the past and therefore it still draws a lot of attention as a short holiday spot...
At that time it was a late May afternoon, souvenir sellers were slowly packing their stuff as potential buyers were becoming scarce... The woman you can see on this picture is hiding the last money she earned on that day. In the background there is a Polish tourist bus shortly going to depart...
