Photographer's Note
After an illegal hippie gathering, ascending a range of absolutely stunning Trans Carpathian mountains we encountered a professional berry collectors, who were getting down to a tiny village to sell their daily crop.
As it turned out later- those people were not locals, they were brought here from other remote villages, early in a morning for "harvesting".
They spent all the day long in mountains on collecting berries, ascended, sold the crop and then gathered to the truck to be driven back to some main village from which they could find other transportation back to their homes.
I was told an average experienced collector can pick up as much as 40 kg a day (~2 full buckets.)
1 kg of berries is bought for ~12 gryvni/kg ->{2,2 US$)).
It is quite an amount for an average Ukrainian family.
The people were extremely friendly but didn’t want to be photographed because they considered themselves to "look too dirty".
I dared to shoot this photo, trying to do it secretly, but when you look more diligently U shall discern a lovely "F**k U" sign showed by one of the passengers
