Photographer's Note

This is another try of showing you the Toggenburg area from above - or maybe more from the side :). Some of my previous posts may look similar. Nevertheless I was thinking that "different angles give different views". And: I know that the mast is some millimetres or so missing but I do like the pic so don't hit me ...

This is the highest peak (Saentis) in the area with over 2500 m. Many times I was standing there at the platform of the restaurant waving wishes to small aircrafts circling above ... so this time it was the other way around (well being too far away I could not check, but who knows).

In spring people ski down from this mountain, but to be honest with you this is nothing for me ... I rather fly over.

Okay, flying has its dangers too (well I am only "co-piloting"). In late December we had a near-miss which means that we almost hit another small aircraft coming from exactly this mountain. I did not realize how close these guys were but I could clearly see them ... When we landed I recognized the colors of the aircraft and I was thinking this is "them". They came over, all excited, telling us how close they were and that they had to make a manoeuvre. All I can tell you is that it goes fast and you would not realize what goes on. So this gives me all the necessary freedom to continue. It gave no extra heart beat but some minor argues with my pilot telling me that I should look out instead of klicking all the time ... trekearth vs. safetiy ... ups.
