Photographer's Note
This village is taken from a Cessna 172 close from the airfield of Buttwil on a rather late winter afternoon. Looks like a childern's playmobil village.
PS. After more than a year learning from TE and its members, I find many of my pictures maybe interesting but not sharp enough, too dark etc. etc. So it went with this one, it seemed a little "dull". I like it better now ... hope you do too.

Very nice shot from the plane, good frame, funny note. I`m jealous that you have a possibility of taking a pictures from Cessna it`s much easier than from Airbus :) Best regards! Andrzej P.S. New version is much better than original.

Hi Barbara,
Well framed shot of this snow covered group of houses. Nice diagonal shadows. And PP definitely improvement to the original giving brightness to highlights.

Hello,
Très jolie vue aérienne. Les maisons du village contrastent bien avec le reste de l'image recouvert par la neige.
Le soleil couchant allonge les ombres et donne du profile à ce décor.
Il s'agit presque d'une image purement graphique.
Bien vu.

Lol, funny title Barbara, I like this bird view and the way the streets are drawing something very aesthetic.
Nice one

Barbara, in response to some of your concerns:
- are you shooting RAW?
- are you using the unSharpen Mask filter?
- in your post-processing are you using the auto-curves?

Hi Barbara,
I'm still suffering as much from the heat as before so looking at your gallery small wonder this one just calls me !!!
The Cessna PoV for sure provides a different view on those landscapes we're used to see from the ground, and yes it matches quite well your title I'd say, the sunny winter conditions provide a good luminosity and your new PP more than significantly enhanced the attractivity of this shot, it's a different photo now.
Have a nice week end,
Jean-Yves

Hi Barbara, according to a few shots in your gallery, you like to compose some geometric figures with those shots like this. I like this one in the way you've used the roads in order to give some directions, well seen and made...
Cheers

Hi
What a great progress - this one is far, far better than the original one. It's very clear and bright.
The unusual pov makes this photo unique.
Take care

I have an idea that has been stolen from someone:
"Sometimes I am a bit too busy to thank you for posting your wonderful photos ... but I like reading and viewing what you shared and try to learn from you..."
I regret two things I could not steal: an airplane and a pilot.
Thank you, Barbara!

Hi Barbara, (that small am when we see ourselves from above), I likes much this image, the resistance of the target of the snow with the lines of the ways, the houses, the trees and the extended shades of the sun of afternoon make of this photo a pretty work, congratulations.
A hug from Spain.

Très belle gallerie où la montagne est à l'honneur; voici une photo aérienne ou les rues et les masions contrastant avec la blancheur de la neige créent un effet graphique; bien vu !

Quite a job you did with the PP of this photo Barbara! And a good one at that! There was like a dark film that is gone now. And I think the colors are more accurate.
Interesting title! ;) Could look also like those miniature villages we see under the Christmass tree!
Quite charming!

Bonjour Barbara,
Très belle vue aérienne dont j'apprècie particulièrement le graphisme donné par les ruelles de cette bourgade. Originale et très bien prise, cette image me plaît beaucoup, bravo !

Hi Barbara,
Wonderful details and colors seen from the air to this old farmstead. I love the efficient layout to this untypical flat Swiss farm landscape.

I keep coming back to this theme of "looking down", each photo captures my attention and imagination. like this one - I entirely agree that the village looks like a toy. when I was a kid I enjoyed a lot all the "constructors" that let you build separate houses and entire cities, I was absolutely fascinated by the little perfect details like flower boxes you could attach to the windows of the houses. I guess it's the same fascination here - tiny trees, tiny windows, tiny chimneys. this is a great shot, Barbara, both in terms of composition and in how you have post-processed it to bring out the best elements. excellent work.
with kind regards,
Kristine

Hi Barbara,
an unusual pov:-) lucky you to be able to fly over this in a Cessna and take this lovely view. I like the pattern produced by the streets and the tiny houses that indeed loke like toys.
TFS, Kind regards

Hi Barbara,
I’ve been meaning to comment on this image for a while. Your aerial photography is quite unusual on TE and I think this one in particular really stands out. It’s very nicely composed: well balanced and self-contained with the group of buildings and roads radiating outwards, along with the trees dotted among the snowy fields. The snow and gentle sunlight definitely adds to its appeal. Interesting to see how the snow has melted on the sunny side of the roofs but remains on the side in shadow, something you obviously notice more from above. It really does look like a toy village.
You’ve done some good PP work as you’ve certainly improved the image compared to the original post.
Very nice work.

The title is simply right. And it's not that usual to find snowy aerial compo. Original then and interesting. And you centered that well too.

Barbara,
I love the name of this small town, it makes me laugh when I say it. Silly, yes I am.
I look for your new post and since there is none, so I look at some of the old one. I like the view of this little town from the sky. I like the compostion of how all the roads Comes together to the town but not really connecting to each other directly. I like the snow, give it that winter wonderland quality, just in time for the season, except here in Southern California, there a dry wind and off couse come with that is the fire. There is one about 20 minutes drive from me. I really don't like this dry wind. It makes me nervous. Happy Sunnday to you.
Way
