Photographer's Note
the French TGV vs. Swiss train Re 460.
- The TGV is France's high-speed rail service, currently operated by SNCF Voyages, the long-distance rail branch of SNCF, the French national rail operator. At mid 2011, the TGV is the fastest conventional train in the world, reaching 320 km/h (200 mph). A TGV test train set the record for the fastest wheeled train, reaching 574.8 km/h (357.2 mph) on 3 April 2007.
- Re 460 had been designed for 200 km/h, for passenger service on the SBB-CFF-CFS. The technical top speed is 230 km/h

Hello Iulian,
When it comes to the ultimate speed of TGV, there are not so many conventional trains, which can compete against TGV in the world at the moment. I like the format that you have chosen for the presentation. I remember well how long the train is. The panoramic format nicely suggests that fact. But in your photo, TGV already has an advantage over the Swiss train. It’s not fair! : ) … but the photo captures very nicely a positive aspect of the both trains, my complements.
With my very best regards,
Have nice and productive week, Iulian
Nobu.
