Photographer's Note
When we stopped to turn around just outside Sorsele we found a small stack of well used cars in an old gravel pit. Cars from around 1980, not many but most of them Volvo´s. At that time Volvo 240 was a very common car in northern Sweden. As it was a bit rugged and very reliable it suited the climate and the long empty roads where no help is to be found.
Or is it true that no help is to be found just because the are so few cars on the roads. From previous experience I remeber that it was quite easy to get help on the empty roads in the middle of nowehere because here people care about their fellow humans. Not many cars will pass before one stops. In Stockholm things are different...
