Photographer's Note

A helicopter is flying high above Stockholm's City Hall, Stadshuset, and a few small boats are seen in Lake Mälaren.

This is a part of Kungsholmen (King's Islet) and a small glimpse of the city center as seen from Monteliusvägen, a popular pedestrian road along the northern heights of Södermalm island offering some of the nicest views of central Stockholm.

The City Hall was inaugurated in 1923. The architect Ragnar Östberg was influenced by the Venetian Renaissance but the building is also said to have been inspired by the Nordic Gothic style and Islamic architecture.

This is where the politicians ruling Stockholm have their offices, and this is also where the great banquet honouring the Nobel Prize recipients is held on December 10 every non-pandemic year.

'Something in the Air' was a hit song recorded in 1969 by the British rock band Thunderclap Newman. There is no connection between that song and this helicopter.
