Photographer's Note
Other skaters are also fascinated of the midwinter light here's one using his mobile to take this moment to eternity
Tour skating on ice (in Swedish "långfärdsskridskoåkning") is now a popular sport in Sweden. Maybe the best conditions in the world are those found around Stockholm with a considerable number of both large and small lakes plus the extensive nearby archipelago in the Baltic Sea. The smallest lakes may freeze normally in November, although the main season usually starts in December and lasts until March or April. Snow is not a major problem in this part of Sweden because in cold periods there are often areas of unfrozen water that can still freeze, and in mild periods the snow melts down to slush in the daytime and freezes to ice during the night.
The Baltic around Stockholm does not freeze every year, but when it does skating there is a very special experience. The lakes also offer outstanding conditions for great tours. On the large Lake Mälaren it is very popular to skate between the many towns situated along the shores and experienced skaters may skate 100 kilometers or more in a day. Most medium-sized and small lakes are located in very beautiful forest landscapes, giving skating there a special character.

I love this shot, Anders. The frozen lake is beautiful with the reflections and it doesn't look frozen at all, so your model seems like standing on water. The only thing is the photo is a little dark, preventing us from seeing the details. I like it that way better actually because it is kind of moody. I tried a ws just to see how it will look when it's lighter. I hope you like it.

Olá Anders,
another good quality shot of that lake. How can nature produce such a perfect mirror on that lake? I guess there is no wind to screw up its work on that. Fantastic!
Abraço,
Carlos

Hi Anders,
We're thinking how it's possible that your ice is so clear and reflections are just perfect! In Poland we have milky-white ice - like in ice hockey...:) It looks so great! And your travelling on ice is also cool! Nice photo, amazing ice:)
greetings,
Michal

I like this one Anders, interesting shot of the frozen lake with the skater on his way. Even with the low winter light some more light added had been ok. Seems to be a nice place and day for this skating experience.

Oh,
if there was no skater in th epicture, I would have
thought this is a landscape showing water (not frozen).
Absolutely amazing and reading your note was really
interesting.
I myself have never had a chance to skate in nature, but
would love to be able to do so one day!
Cheers,
Robi
